Red Velvet Whoopie Pies. That's the recipe that jumped out at me when I looked through my latest issue of Better Homes and Gardens. I LOVE red velvet cake with 7 minute frosting, and the idea of a hand-held, take-anywhere version of this treat is just to irresistible. Although, I think I would cut out the cream cheese, as that sounds a bit too rich for me, and I'm a bit of a purest sometimes.
Anyway, the whole issue of this magazine confirms my suspicions that a lot of people are thinking about a more 'homey' Christmas this year. They even had my idea of fancy paper chains to decorate the tree, although I plan to make the rings on mine smaller, but who'd of ever thought I'd follow a trend. ('Course I could argue that it was just coincidence since I got the idea before I saw the magazine.)
We're going to be home for Christmas this year...and I'm excited. I'm even joining the choir at church. I feel like a kid again, planning all the fun, and getting beautiful images in my head of the Christmas splendor. Can't wait!!!
