Dear Mr. President:

Although I doubt you'll read this I can't help wishing I did have the capability to influence you. I watched your inauguration with hope, not in you as a man (because I voted for the 'other guy') but in the process, and in a glimmer of something in what you said that touched me and gave me a sense of tentative calm.

Today, as I was watching the news I was disheartened to find out that one of the first things you did was repeal all laws that have been put in place to protect unborn children. My heart breaks as I think of the trash cans that will now be littered with even more of the bodies of our littlest children that were deemed, "inconvenient," "unwanted," "imperfect" and/or "unimportant." I knew going in that this was your position, but I had no idea how eager you were to carry out your 'threats' to do this.

I do not plan to do or say anything against you, or give up being a good citizen. I will continue to watch what you do with great interest. But, I lost a lot of the faith I was starting to get in a new hope for the future. Where will that future be if we take on the roll of God in deciding who lives and who dies?

With respect,

Karin S.
